Rising Star Systems

Debra Russell Coaching, donation, charity, giving back

We believe that what you focus on expands exponentially. We focus on gratitude for all of our many blessings and we look to expand those blessings out into the world.

We also believe in the concept –

Give a man (person) a fish, and you feed him (her/them) for a day; teach a man (person) to fish, and you feed him (her/them) for a lifetime

So, we have chosen these three organizations to donate to:

Open Medicine Foundation

Open Medicine Foundation – https://www.msccd.ong/
Funds and accelerates rigorous medical research into Myalgic EncephalomyelitisFibromyalgia, and Long Covid, supporting collaborative, open-science efforts to improve diagnostics, treatments, and quality of life.

I’ve been suffering from M.E. for 30 years (31 in February) and also had Long Covid for a year after being infected in March, 2020 which has been exacerbated each of the 3 subsequent times I’ve contracted Covid.

This research is very important to me personally. But also to millions of people across the globe. Initial estimates that 36% of people with confirmed cases of Covid will suffer from Long Covid have thankfully dropped. And yet the new cases being added with every year are still in the millions. – https://www.who.int/news-room/fact-sheets/detail/post-covid-19-condition-(long-covid)

Those who suffer with MECFS internationally are estimated to be approximately .89% of people in the world – which amounts to about 71 million. There is also a significant overlap of those with Long Covid who go on to receive a diagnosis of MECFS, making absolute numbers even more difficult to pin down. (Multiple sources)

So, while, this is an issue of personal significance to me, it has much wider implications with estimates of lost productivity in the hundreds of billions worldwide. https://solvecfs.org/labor-lost-the-economic-impact-of-post-infection-disease/

With very few treatments and no prognosis of a cure, research into this complex disease is critical and beginning to uncover clear cellular impacts. These discoveries will hopefully lead to real treatment options in the future – but not without research funding.

Even before the current status at the NIH, funding for MECFS was 1/16th of that for MS, which has seen incredible advancement in treatment.

The Unstoppable Foundation

The Unstoppable Foundation – https://unstoppablefoundation.org/
Works to end poverty through their 5-Pillar Model, which combines:

  • Education
  • Clean water and sanitation
  • Food and nutrition
  • Healthcare, and
  • Income generation training

In order to address the root causes of poverty from every angle, each pillar reinforces the others, creating a stable, sustainable structure that lifts entire communities.

They support education and sustainability by building schools, providing clean water, supporting teacher training, and strengthening local infrastructure. So communities can become self-sustaining.

I have a few friends deeply involved in this organization, David Meltzer (Chairman of the Board), and Janet Driver (Director of Partnerships)

Heifer International

heifer international, local impact

Heifer International – https://www.heifer.org/
Supports families and communities in building sustainable livelihoods through agriculture, livestock, financial inclusion, and climate-resilient farming — prioritizing dignity, self-reliance, and long-term food security.

I learned about Heifer from a 60 Minutes story many years ago. I love the way they approach the huge challenges facing villages in Africa.

This organization takes the quote above and puts it into literal action.

With the elimination of USAID and the massive reduction in funding for medical research that we are experiencing in the US, it has become more incumbent on us to give back in what ever ways we can.

I am donating proceeds from my Priority Power Masterclass to these three organizations. If you can give more – please do.
