Mindset of Productivity
I’ve spent more than 20 years and worked with hundreds of people around time management, project management and all the areas that feed into productivity.
The first Pillar of Productivity must be Mindset. Of course, all four Pillars are intertwined. And if we don’t address mindset, the rest becomes much more difficult.
Areas of challenge in Mindset include (not a complete list):
The 3 P’s of Productivity:
- Procrastination,
- Prioritizing,
- And Perfectionism
Plus:
- Overwhelm
- Decision Making and Decision Fatigue
- Boundaries
- Pacing and energy management
What I’ve found is that mindset challenges are often a combination of habits of thought and behavior plus a lack of skills.
For example, priority setting is a skill set. And making those decisions about your priorities is also a habit.
There are additional unique challenges for those who are neurodivergent because of the differences in the way you process information, make decisions and your abilities in those areas. These challenges can be overcome. And it will take some experimentation to discover what are the best methods for you, if you are ADHD, for example.
You can get started today on addressing overwhelm and procrastination by working on the exercises in my book:
